 John R. Wilson, DVM
Dr. John R. Wilson founded Greenbrier Veterinary Hospital more than thirty years ago after graduating from Ohio State University. He performs most of the hospital's orthopedic surgeries, including bone plating and pinning, cruciate repairs, and disc surgery. He and his wife Vicki, who runs Peddler's Alley Antiques, have 5 daughters. Dr. Wilson is also currently the president of the WV State Fair Board of Directors.
Cindy Lightner, DVM Dr. Cindy Lightner is a 1990 graduate of Ohio State University and has been with Greenbrier Veterinary Hospital for fifteen years. She has a special interest in soft tissue surgery and internal medicine. She mans the Marlinton clinic. Dr. Lightner is a native of Greenbrier County
who raises American Saddlebred horses.
Susan Mohler, DVM Dr. Susan Mohler
is a 1996 graduate of VA-Tech and she joined our staff in July 1998. She enjoys
avian medicine and currently is in the office on Thursdays & Fridays. She, her husband, Dr. Craig Mohler, and their two children reside in Union along with their 4 dogs, 9 cats, 1 parrot and a tank full of fish. She is active in her church, assisting with the Sunday school class in her spare time.
Rebecca Baum, DVM Dr. Rebecca Baum, a graduate of VA Tech, joined our staff in July 2000. She has a strong interest in internal medicine. Dr. Baum also mans our Covington clinic every Tuesday.. She is a native of Greenbrier County and loves to go horseback riding in her spare time. She and her husband, Chad reside in White Sulphur Springs.
Sarah Koressl, DVM Dr.
Sarah Koressel is from Evansville,
Indiana. She received her bachelor degree in Animal Science and recently
graduated from Purdue University's School of Veterinary Medicine. Her
hobbies include traveling and outdoor activities. She lives with her
husband, Peter Ward, who is an assistant professor of anatomy at West Virginia
School of Osteopathic Medicine. They currently reside in Lewisburg with
their 5 cats, 2 snakes, 1 bird and 5 goldfish.
Office Staff
Elaine has been with us for the past 15 years and is our hospital administrator. We rely on her to take care of several departments, including personnel and accounts payable. She is married to Bob Zopp (the former coach) and has 2 children. Elaine keeps us organized (a very difficult task, indeed).
Lou Ella is one of our receptionists who also works in our Covington office on Tuesdays. She and her husband Chuck have 3 kids (two daughters and one son). She is always cheerful, smiling and glad to help people.
Katie is another one of our receptionists and public relations director who also works in our Marlinton office on Thursdays. She and her husband, Allen, live in Union along with their 5 cats and dog, Molly.
Daphaine is also one of our receptionists. She and her
husband Brent live in White Sulphur Springs with their three pets.
Helen is one of our receptionists as well as our filing clerk. She resides in Williamsburg.
Shelby is our purchasing agent and has been with us for 15 years. She and her husband Mike have two children. She tackles many jobs, including ordering and inventory, as well as maintaining our technical equipment.
Ginger is our kennel supervisor as well as being one our
receptionists. She and her husband Andrew live in Alderson along with
their two daughters and numerous pets.
Exam Room and Vet AssistantsWe are extremely lucky to have such long-term, skilled assistants. They do a very good job of monitoring surgical patients, nursing care, assisting in surgery, performing dental cleanings, and a whole host of other tasks. The hospital truly could not function without them.
Ashley, Natalie, Amber and Susan assist the doctors in the exam rooms and will be glad to answer any questions you might have about preventive health care, flea control, dental care, etc. Use them, they are a great resource!
Kelly has been here for 15 years. She has bunches of pets and is a true animal lover. She makes sure we take an active role in finding homes for as many unwanted animals as possible.
Warren has been with us for the past 13 years. He operates his family farm and is also working with the Soil Conservation Service in Alderson.
Amber joined our staff several years ago in the kennel area. We are really glad to have her as one of our assistants. She will be assisting with the front exam rooms on Saturdays while furthering her education
Ashley is one of our vet assistants. She has worked at our practice for almost 5 years in the kennel area and now has been promoted to an assistant.
Natalie, her husband Michael along with their two children, live in Lewisburg. She is a registered veterinary technician who graduated from Fairmont. She is also maintaining our OSHA compliance program.
Susan is one of our assistants. She is a graduate from Blue Ridge Community College in Weyers Cave, VA. She resides in
Lewisburg along with her son, Neal, K9 daughter, Emma and four other feline children.
Bill is one of our assistants who also shares the task of general maintenance around the hospital. He and his wife, Cathy (also a member of our staff), live in Williamsburg with their numerous pets.
GroomersSandy has been a groomer for ten years (the last eight with us) and is a native of White Sulphur Springs. Sandy is a whiz with the clippers as well as the vet assistant in our Marlinton office on Thursdays.!
Tracy has been with us for ten years. She and her two sons reside in Renick along with her dog & cat. Tracy mans our grooming parlor in Covington on Tuesdays.
Our groomers do a great job and can make your little Fifi look wonderful! They would love to do some of the more intricate pattern clips also, so call with your requests.
Kennel StaffAnimal caretakers include Evelyn,
Tricia, Tracy, Hannah,
Laura, Michael and Brittany.
HousekeepingOur custodian/kennel manager is Cathy. She and her husband Bill (one of our technicians) currently reside in Williamsburg. Keeping the hospital clean and as odor-free as possible is a never ending task. Cathy is really making a difference! Our textile engineer is Evelyn, an employee of 27 years. She resides in Maxwelton. Keeping the beds & towels clean and dry is a never ending task and Evelyn really does a great job!
